support@schybo.comFrequently Asked Questions
Why does WeatherGlass need my location?
Location is used to fetch weather data for your current position. The app sends your coordinates to the Open-Meteo API to get local forecasts. Your location is never stored on any server.
How do I add and manage saved locations?
Go to the Locations tab, tap the + button, and search for a city. Saved locations appear in a list and you can switch between them with a tap. Swipe to delete any saved location.
How do I change temperature or wind speed units?
Tap the gear icon on the Weather tab to open Settings. You can switch between Fahrenheit/Celsius and mph/km h/m s/knots.
Where does the weather data come from?
All data comes from Open-Meteo, a free, open-source weather API. It combines data from national weather services worldwide and provides forecasts, air quality, historical data, and radar precipitation.
What is the "On This Day" feature?
On This Day shows what the weather was like on today’s date in previous years, going back up to 30 years. It includes record highs and lows, historical averages, and a year-by-year breakdown. It’s also available as a home screen widget.
How do I set up the WeatherGlass widget?
Long-press your home screen, tap the + button, and search for WeatherGlass. You’ll see two widgets: the main forecast widget (small, medium, or large) and the On This Day widget (small or medium).
Does WeatherGlass work offline?
The app caches the most recent forecast so you can see your last-fetched weather without a connection. New data requires an internet connection. Pull down on the Weather tab to refresh.
Does WeatherGlass collect my data?
No. Saved locations and preferences are stored entirely on your device. The app makes API calls to Open-Meteo with your coordinates but no personal information is sent or stored remotely.
